Overview

Philosophy

"Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
Knowing your audience is paramount. My approach is built on three pillars:

1. Understand the Audience: Awareness of the unique perspectives of all stakeholders helps me align training material with their goals, ensuring maximum relevance and buy-in.

2. Master the Content: A deep understanding of the material allows me to customize the curriculum for maximum value.

3. Engage and Adapt: I present content in a way that is engaging and flexible, reducing friction and easing trainees into the learning process.

Training Strategy

The design, development, and delivery of training content is an iterative process. It begins with knowing the material and the audience, and it evolves through continuous refinement based on software updates and trainee feedback. I apply proven instructional design frameworks, like ADDIE and Backward Design, in my daily work. Furthermore, by applying the principles of andragogy (i.e. the methods and practice of teaching adult learners), I ensure that content is engaging and well-received by the technical experts I train.

Certification

A valuable certification program must validate a user's aptitude with the software. The specific value offered by the certification is the primary driving force behind its design—after all, why build a program no one wants? Certifications must align with available training content; it's unreasonable to test knowledge that isn't readily attainable. Furthermore, the assessment criteria must be rigorous enough to truly validate expertise in the certified area.
*The PDF linked below outlines the certification program I designed, launched, and continue to oversee.

Content Organization

Training Experience

The training experience begins with video content and live presentations that include both lecture and demonstration. This is supplemented by a curated knowledgebase containing software documentation, FAQs, and guided case studies. Finally, live, interactive exercises allow new users to experience the software firsthand.

Access and Setup Video Sample

This sample video acclimates new users to resources available outside of the LMS. I personally design and develop the interactive in-software exercises, and I manage and author the majority of the content within our knowledgebase.
*Send an email if you want more information on how I build and set up these resources. (psteere.428@gmail.com)

Sample Materials

The materials below are best understood within the context of a full training session, but they represent a sample of the supporting resources I create for the curriculum.

Video Course Samples

The videos below are samples from a comprehensive video course. The full course contains 20 videos.
*note: my most recent training materials, which feature an updated visual style, are proprietary and not available for public distribution.
